Former Michigan center John Morrow will relive the glory days when he takes the Michigan Stadium field on Saturday for the annual alumni flag football game.

He might have to shake off a little rust first, though. He played for the Wolverines from 1953-55.

Better keep the ice handy.

Morrow is the oldest of the 106 players slated to play in the alumni game, which kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Big House. The Wolverines' spring game follows at noon.

The players who left the program most recently, for the record, are linebacker Ohene Opong-Owusu and defensive end Adam Patterson, who played from 2005-10.

The Blue Team's roster has a pair of former All-Americans in center Rod Payne (1996) and defensive tackle Mark Messner (1987, 1988).

Some other notable entrants include quarterbacks John Navarre, John Wangler and Don Moorhead, running back Ricky Powers, receiver Mercury Hayes, safety Cato June and defensive back Chuck Winters, among others.

The 2011 alumni game MVP, Elijah Bradley, is not back to defend that title.

All told, it's a solid collection of players from the 350 or so who are expected to be in town this weekend for the spring game festivities. Coach Brady Hoke said he would meet with them Friday night, as he did last year on the eve of the spring game.

Where the heck are Jim Harbaugh, Mike Hart, Tyrone Wheatley (favorite Wolverine of all time...he single handedly carried UM on his back to victory in that Rose Bowl game). I'm sure they're "busy", but c'mon...this is Michigan fer chrissakes! Very cool tradition and kudos to the old geezers that show up to play in this annual ritual. Must be a gas to relive the glory days of playing in the Big House!

What a great couple of rosters. My money is on the Maize team because they have Don Moorhead. BTW did anyone invite Anthony Carter? would be awesome to see him in that game... props to all of the guys from the 50s who are playing...that is amazing.
